Copro Gallery presented Kubrick, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles artist Carlos Ramos.
Eleven years after Stanley Kubrick’s passing, Ramos transformed the gallery into a striking visual tribute to the legendary filmmaker, reimagining scenes from 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, and Dr. Strangelove.
Through bold, graphic paintings, Ramos explored Kubrick’s obsessive design and iconic imagery from the sterile white interiors of 2001 to the patterned carpets of The Shining and the stark Droog uniforms of Clockwork.
Ramos’ long-standing fascination with Kubrick takes shape in a series as meticulous, unsettling, and human as the films themselves.
